These two technologies are similar, if not exactly the same. What they do have in common is a growing importance as companies' data storage needs increase. The product that we're looking for will combine ease-of-use with ability to hold large volumes of data, It will be offer users easy access, support all compliance standards and offer real value for money.
This is for the product that has either been most successfully ported to a cloud application or has been developed for such delivery.
2008 Winner:

An award for any product that can demonstrate substantial power savings or any other way to reduce carbon emissions e.g. videoconferencing or collaboration software to reduce travel
For any product that sits on the network: it could be a server, a router, switch, an accelerator/bandwidth shaper or any other device.
This could be a portable device; a base station or access point or it could be an application residing on a device.
For all software used for managing or monitoring networks; this could a LAN or a WAN and could be used by an enterprise or a service provider. Alternatively it could go to handheld device to troubleshoot network faults.
2008 Winner:

Again, this has been rationalised so that the award can go to any product that secures or protects data. This could be hardware or software and could operate at service provider, enterprise or desktop, protecting whole systems, PCs or mobile devices.
This could be an operating system or enterprise-wide software
This year we’ve merged storage categories into one. This award will go to any device whose primary purpose it is to secure data, whatever the medium, and whatever the underlying technology.
We’re looking for any kind of virtualisation: this could be storage, server, apps or desktop.
